WHY THETA?

There’s something about Theta. There’s something about surrounding yourself by the most driven, empowered, and unequivocally brilliant group of young women. Women who lift you up, who challenge you to be your strongest self, who support and celebrate you at each and every opportunity.

There’s something about a community where ambition and selflessness coexist in harmony. A community that radiates confidence and passion. A sisterhood bonded by a shared desire to grow with each other, making ourselves, and the world, better in the process.

Whether personally, academically, or professionally, Thetas strive for excellence. Our members are leaders, activists, filmmakers, scientists, musicians, bankers, designers, artists, athletes, and authors… just to name a few. No matter your passions or interests, you will find a sister in Theta who not only shares your enthusiasm but who is eager to help you in pursuing your goals.

Every day, we are inspired by this Chapter and thankful for the genuine friendships we have made. Now, it is your turn, and we could not be more excited to participate in your Panhellenic journey. When Recruitment comes around in the Spring, remember to be yourself and to keep an open mind! Each chapter at Columbia is unique, and we all have so much to offer to each and every one of you.

RECRUITMENT

Panhellenic Formal Recruitment is held each year at the beginning of the spring semester, usually in late January. Over the course of the weekend, potential new members (or PNMs) visit each of the six Panhellenic sororities on campus! The weekend is divided into three “days“ — philanthropy day, development day, and preference night. On philanthropy day, PNMs learn about Kappa Alpha Theta's national philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), and what service means to members of Columbia Theta. On development day, PNMs experience the strength of our sisterhood and learn how Theta fosters personal growth. The final night, preference night, is where active members are able to share more personal experiences as a member of Theta at Columbia. At the end of recruitment, our chapter comes together on Bid Night to welcome our new member class!

Spring 2024 Formal Recruitment will be from Thursday, January 25, to Sunday, January 28.

Spring 2024 Panhellenic Recruitment is now closed. For more information, please visit the Columbia Panhellenic Website.
